I moved to the Charlotte from Ohio at the age of 12 and attended Quail Hollow Middle and South Mecklenburg High Schools. Shortly after graduating from North Carolina State University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, I married my wife Penny. We have two grown children, Summer and Jed.
After brief stints in South Carolina and Georgia, we moved back to Charlotte in 1994 and settled in our current home in the Ashley Creek neighborhood in Matthews in 2001. I have been actively civically engaged here ever since, serving as a Boy Scout leader, Matthews Athletic Recreation Association coach, Mecklenburg County Floodplain Taskforce member, President of our homeowner’s association, Charlotte Mecklenburg School System proctor and speaker, Men’s Shelter volunteer and Appearance and Tree Board member.
After 25 years of employment at Matthews headquartered Conbraco Industries, where I was the Vice President of Innovation and Engineering, I am now currently self-employed.
Penny and I attend Matthews United Methodist Church.
In 2013, I was elected to my first term as a town commissioner. Now in my third term, I currently serve as Mayor Pro-Tem, and also sit on the Economic Development Advisory Committee.
What Can You Do?
Make sure you get out to vote on November 5th but if you want to do more to help preserve Matthews, you can contribute to my campaign.
